Your Critterz are stored fully on-chain on the Ethereum Blockchain and are yours forever. Before joining the Critterz world, you'll have to stake the Critterz. You can do so via our dashboard. Once the Critter is staked, you'll receive a staked Critter (sCritter) token. You'll use this token to access the world.

Staked Critterz are NFTs that other Genesis Critter owners did not use for gaming but instead put them on secondary markets for rental. These staked Critterz are valid for up to 7 days. You can filter out Critterz by their locked date by using this filter on Opensea or by manually checking the sCritter metadata here. More on renting later.

Plot ownership is the easiest way to access the Critterz metaverse forever. Plots are ERC721 NFTs and are represented as 64 by 64 blocks of in-game land. Everything you do in your piece of land is protected. Only you will be able to build or destroy blocks on your Plot. You can control whether to turn on access to PvP as well. You can also access the rest of the Critterz world and build on any unclaimed Plots, but these would not be protected.
Without a staked Critter, you will not be able to generate $BLOCK tokens. We currently have future plans to add generation of $BLOCK tokens with staked Plots, but this is not yet implemented.
